Who we are

walkai-talkai is a macOS application and website operated by Sezer Iltekin (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected].

What stays on your Mac

Voice processing is local. We never receive your radio audio or transcripts.

• Speech recognition runs on your Mac with OpenAI Whisper (whisper.cpp). Radio audio is not uploaded.
• Voice synthesis runs on your Mac with CoreML models.
• Recorded commands, announcements, settings, API keys and conversation history are stored only on your Mac, in the app’s data folder.
• The local HTTP interface listens on 127.0.0.1 and is not reachable from the network.

What we collect

• Purchase: your email address and order details given at checkout. Stripe is the Merchant of Record for your order: it receives your payment and billing details and handles them under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). Card details are handled only by Stripe; we never see or store them.
• License: your license key, the Mac’s hardware identifier, device name and app version at activation, plus the time of each activation and verification.
• License recovery: if you use “Already bought?” in the app, the email address you enter is sent to our server to look up and resend your license key. Nothing is revealed about whether a license exists for it.
• Technical logs: IP addresses and request details on our server, used for security, rate limiting and abuse prevention.
• Website analytics: Google Analytics 4 records page views and general device, browser and approximate location information. It is not used on checkout confirmation or admin pages.

API Mode and third parties

If you use API Mode, the text of your command and the conversation context are sent directly from your Mac to the AI provider you configured (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, or a custom/local endpoint) using your own API key. That provider’s terms and privacy policy apply; we do not receive this data.

We use the following processors to run the service: Stripe (payments and taxes, as Merchant of Record), Amazon Web Services SES (license emails), Cloudflare (network and security), our hosting provider, and Google Analytics (website analytics).

Optional speech models are downloaded from Hugging Face when you choose to, and app updates are delivered from walkai-talkai.com; those requests expose your IP address to the respective server.

We do not sell personal data.

License verification

The app contacts our server to activate the license and from time to time to verify it. Between verifications it keeps working offline for up to 14 days. These requests contain your license key and hardware identifier so the license can be bound to one Mac.

Retention

License and order records are kept for as long as the license exists and as required by accounting and legal obligations. Server logs are kept for a limited period.

Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to its processing, by writing to [email protected]. Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or Turkish KVKK applies to you, you also have the rights they grant, including the right to complain to your supervisory authority. Deleting license data ends the license.

Children and changes

The service is not directed to children. If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify purchasers by email.
